Q: Why don't you accept tips?
A: There are several answers to this question. Primarily, we hope our restaurant is the place you want to come back to again and again. We want you to feel comfortable and happy to be here each and every time you visit us. We're not doing this to get as much as we can from each customer. We're friendly and kind because that's the way we are, and we want you to have a good experience when you walk in our doors. Eliminating the tipping issue keeps things more affordable for you. Plus, not having to think about tipping takes away any awkwardness there might be with "how much should I leave?" or "I was here earlier today, should I tip again?" or "gosh, they're nice people, but this is all the dough I've got". It's the same reason we cut the crust off the Kiddos Grilled Cheese, it eliminates the need for the "eat your crust" command and instead is a win-win for everyone. If you've told someone about our restaurant or sent your friend/co-worker/sister here to try it out, well then, you've already tipped us! Continuing to be our customer and sending us new ones will keep us in business a lot longer. And we already know that our customers have an amazing history with old-fashioned word-of-mouth. Come on, you know who you are! Every single day we have a new soup lover walk through our door and tell us, "My girlfriend/uncle/neighbor told me I had to try this place, so here I am!" We can't begin to tell you how much we appreciate and are flattered when we hear that. It tells us that you're happy and we're honored to have that reputation with you. Keep up the good work fellow soup lovers and spread the word about soup!
